If you are looking for a meaningful job, a caring, progressive work environment and an opportunity to reach your fullest potential, consider a career with the YMCA. We are seeking individuals who are inspired by playing an important role in changing people’s lives and therefore communities.

We are all about creating inspirational pathways and opportunities, opening doors and welcoming all to get involved and make a positive difference. Working with us means helping children, youth, adults and seniors at all levels of ability, from all walks of life, to develop their self-esteem and potential in new ways.

At YMCA Bolton the key dimension to the work and investment in the community is its particular focus upon young people and their development in body, mind and spirit from childhood through to adulthood. Our multi-generational approach stems from our steadfast belief that appropriate guidance and assistance at the formative stages of a child’s life holds not only the key to individual progress but shapes the collective development of the future community.

Reclaimed Futures is an intervention programme that the YMCA has designed to tackle the key barriers that we know exist for young people aged 18-26 who have a background of offending, when trying to secure meaningful employment. The programme will build on the strong working relationship that exists with the local Probation Service in Bolton to ensure that together we can begin to have a greater impact on the lives of these young people.

This post will deliver and manage all aspects of the Reclaimed Futures programme.

The main duties include:

  • To develop positive relationships with all the young people who are referred on to the programme and work with them on an intensive one-to-one basis acting as both a coach and mentor
  • Have direct contact with each of the beneficiaries on a regular basis including weekly 1-1 sessions, complete the necessary monitoring, assessment, action planning and review processes with them and provide evidence that this work has been carried out within the specified timescales.
  • Provide specific support and high-quality advice to enable beneficiaries to overcome all personal and practical barriers to securing employment and to stop reoffending
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date case records with beneficiaries to achieve set targets including the production of quarterly performance reports
  • To manage the effective administration and distribution of the bursary fund in accordance with the YMCA’s financial procedures
  • To maintain a close working relationship with the Probation Service including the management of an effective referral system for the young people

To the successful candidate we offer:

  • 28 days annual leave (Pro rata) (including Bank Holidays)
  • Flexible working environment
  • Opportunities to apply for other internal roles
