Senior Manager – YMCA Housing

Full-time 37.5 hours per week
£26,273 per annum

YMCA Housing is an independent YMCA, which works in collaboration with partner YMCAs to offer service users a secure and a safe place to stay. The YMCA believes that positive emotional and mental health and wellbeing is fundamental to the growth and development of an individual in body, mind and spirit. YMCA Housing assists local Associations to achieve this by acting as a vehicle to provide beds spaces for partner YMCAs to manage. YMCA Housing is supported by YMCA Fylde Coast in the delivery of this mission.

 

As Senior Manager you will provide advice, support and guidance that will promote the delivery of high standards of housing management services within YMCA Housing. You will ensure that all partner YMCAs remain true to the Lakeside principals, and that YMCA Housing is an effective delivery model ensuring sustainability of Local Associations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the development and delivery of the strategic objectives and business plan.
  • To contract manage the management agreement.  To report on outcomes and where appropriate, develop and put in place action plans designed to improve performance.
  • To maintain and develop policies and procedures, including the development and embedding of effective systems of operation.
  • To agree and negotiate where necessary annual budgets with partner YMCAs and control the agreed annual budget of YMCA Housing.
  • Ensure that partner YMCAs have the opportunity to take advantage of capital development opportunities.
  • Formulate and oversee the implementation of the asset management plans for YMCA Housing.
  • To be responsible for the monitoring function of YMCA Housing.

As Les Mills Body Combat Group Instructor you will hold a relevant Les Mills Body Combat relevant qualification. You will have previous experience of teaching the above discipline in a busy fitness environment & will have work within the ethos of the Fylde Coast YMCA

The main duties will include:

  • Deliver a high standard, quality service in the above discipline.
  • Ensure professional standards are maintained and developed.
  • Educate and instruct customers on correct technique and proper form.
  • Support members in achieving their fitness goals.
  • To ensure Les Mills qualifications remain up to date and materials used are approved by your registered qualification.
  • To ensure the health and safety of all members and participants.

Bank Staff Opportunities

YMCA Fylde Coast are looking to create a Bank of well suited staff members, who are currently looking for job opportunities within the Leisure and Childcare sectors.

We are offering the suitable candidates the opportunity to enter our bank of staff. This means that when one of the job roles listed below becomes available and we require somebody to begin work as soon as possible, you will be our first port of call.

Lifeguards – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will maintain vigilant supervision of the swimming pools to ensure customer safety at all times, preventing accidents and incidents and taking appropriate action in the event of these occurring. You will undertake everyday cleaning tasks to ensure the centre is well presented at all times. Maintaining high levels of customer service is vital for this role. To be successful in making it into our Bank of staff you must be NPLQ qualified.

Centre Workers – Meets National Wage Living Requirements

You will assist with the daily operations involved in running a leisure centre, you will be responsible for setting up, dismantling and maintaining equipment, ensuring that our customers are satisfied with the services we provide. You will  make sure that all areas of the facility are kept clean and tidy, staff the reception desk when required and assist the duty manager when needed. Applicants must be 18 and over due to potential bar work.

Childcare Workers – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children that use our Crèche and Play facilities. You will establish learning opportunities for the service users, encouraging the physical, intellectual and spiritual development of each child. Candidates must have a level 2/3 childcare qualification for this position.

Family/Young People Support Worker – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will  be responsible for providing housing related support to service users within Fylde Coast YMCA  Housing Projects, providing effective support around sustaining tenancy and independent living. You should be educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. CVs will be accepted in the initial instance, if you are successful in making it to the next stages you will be required to fill in an application form.

Fitness Bank Staff (YMCA Poulton/YMCA Thornton) – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of service within our new state of the art fitness suites. You will be customer focused and possess excellent organisational & communication skills with the ability to work in a team as well as on your own. To be successful in making it onto our Bank of Fitness Staff, you should be educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and have previous experience in a fitness environment.

Since its inception in 1922 YMCA Fylde Coast  has been supported and assisted by a range of dedicated volunteers, devoting their time, skills and enthusiasm to the many activities provided for local communities by the YMCA.

Tommy’s Youth Club – Boxing Club

Do you have experience in boxing? Do you want to get involved in boxing? Do you want to help young people through a diversionary activity? Tommy’s Youth Club based at YMCA Lofthouse in Fleetwood are looking for volunteers to assist in the running and organisation of their Boxing Club. The club has just won the North West Junior Boxing Club of the year. We are looking for volunteers who want to assist in taking the club to the next level and become part of something special.

 

Changing Young Lives Events

Can you spare time on an ad hoc basis to help with YMCA Lakeside fundraising events and other fundraising activities throughout the year?  We are busy planning events and activities to raise funds for our YMCA Lakeside School Facility ‘Changing Young Lives’ Appeal but in order to make these successful we need the help of volunteers to work alongside our brilliant and enthusiastic staff. From an hour or two once a year to regular involvement at multiple events, any time and expertise you can spare is gratefully appreciated

Fylde Sharks

We are also currently looking for volunteers to assist us with the running of the Fylde Sharks disability swimming sessions. Volunteering opportunities exist in areas ranging from administration duties to swimming assistants. In addition, the team are in need of ASA qualified swimming teachers. The sessions offer one-to one swimming lessons to disabled children and young people up to 18 years of age. Funpod Foxes

We are currently looking for volunteers for assist with the running of the Funpod Foxes sessions. The sessions are multi sports in nature and are for children (8+) and adults with a disability.
