IYou will oversee the reception area of the F2F YMCA housing, dealing with members of the public both on the telephone and face to face acting as a single point of contact for all enquiries and room bookings. You will provide administration support to all services within the Social Housing Department preparing supporting paperwork for the Social Housing and Housing Services Managers, as well as assist in the collation and reporting of related statistical data. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Office and all of the systems within the Department.

The main duties will include: ~
– To communicate with all YMCA Fylde Coast staff and Managers and our external customers regarding Bond Guarantee, Social Housing      enquiries, Fylde Counselling Services, via telephone, email and in writing.
– To record all till transactions accurately on the AMIS software and maintain a record of any communications from tenants and visitors to the   office.
– To maintain all internal and external administrative systems for the Social Housing Department and those of our Awarding Bodies.
– To process all financial paperwork relating to purchase orders and recording completion of work.

As a Lifeguard you will supervise the security, health, safety and welfare of the public ensuring their enjoyment in all areas of the facility and carry out rescues as required. The main duties will include:

  • To interact with the public responsibly and welcome all users of the facilities, promoting a positive image if the facility by the provision of high quality customer service.
  • To comply with the Pool Safe Operating Procedures at all times.
  • To maintain a vigilant watch of the swimming pool areas in accordance with the operating procedures and take necessary action to ensure the safety of all pool users and staff.
  • To check the safety of equipment in areas of responsibility and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, plant or building fabric to the Supervisor, Operations Manager or General Manager immediately after discovery.
  • To assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required.
  • To ensure that a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the facilities at all times.
  • To patrol all areas of the facility and ensure that all areas are being used in the correct manner, making suitable adjustments as necessary.
  • Administrative duties, including reception and sales functions.

Lifeguards – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will maintain vigilant supervision of the swimming pools to ensure customer safety at all times, preventing accidents and incidents and taking appropriate action in the event of these occurring. You will undertake everyday cleaning tasks to ensure the centre is well presented at all times. Maintaining high levels of customer service is vital for this role. To be successful in making it into our Bank of staff you must be NPLQ qualified.

Centre Workers – Meets National Wage Living Requirements

You will assist with the daily operations involved in running a leisure centre, you will be responsible for setting up, dismantling and maintaining equipment, ensuring that our customers are satisfied with the services we provide. You will  make sure that all areas of the facility are kept clean and tidy, staff the reception desk when required and assist the duty manager when needed. Applicants must be 18 and over due to potential bar work.

Childcare Workers – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children that use our Crèche and Play facilities. You will establish learning opportunities for the service users, encouraging the physical, intellectual and spiritual development of each child. Candidates must have a level 2/3 childcare qualification for this position.

Family/Young People Support Worker – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will  be responsible for providing housing related support to service users within Fylde Coast YMCA  Housing Projects, providing effective support around sustaining tenancy and independent living. You should be educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. CVs will be accepted in the initial instance, if you are successful in making it to the next stages you will be required to fill in an application form.

Fitness Bank Staff (YMCA Poulton/YMCA Thornton) – Meets National Minimum Wage Requirements

You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of service within our new state of the art fitness suites. You will be customer focused and possess excellent organisational & communication skills with the ability to work in a team as well as on your own. To be successful in making it onto our Bank of Fitness Staff, you should be educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and have previous experience in a fitness environment.

Since its inception in 1922 YMCA Fylde Coast  has been supported and assisted by a range of dedicated volunteers, devoting their time, skills and enthusiasm to the many activities provided for local communities by the YMCA.

Tommy’s Youth Club – Boxing Club

Do you have experience in boxing? Do you want to get involved in boxing? Do you want to help young people through a diversionary activity? Tommy’s Youth Club based at YMCA Lofthouse in Fleetwood are looking for volunteers to assist in the running and organisation of their Boxing Club. The club has just won the North West Junior Boxing Club of the year. We are looking for volunteers who want to assist in taking the club to the next level and become part of something special.

 

Changing Young Lives Events

Can you spare time on an ad hoc basis to help with YMCA Lakeside fundraising events and other fundraising activities throughout the year?  We are busy planning events and activities to raise funds for our YMCA Lakeside School Facility ‘Changing Young Lives’ Appeal but in order to make these successful we need the help of volunteers to work alongside our brilliant and enthusiastic staff. From an hour or two once a year to regular involvement at multiple events, any time and expertise you can spare is gratefully appreciated

Fylde Sharks

We are also currently looking for volunteers to assist us with the running of the Fylde Sharks disability swimming sessions. Volunteering opportunities exist in areas ranging from administration duties to swimming assistants. In addition, the team are in need of ASA qualified swimming teachers. The sessions offer one-to one swimming lessons to disabled children and young people up to 18 years of age. Funpod Foxes

We are currently looking for volunteers for assist with the running of the Funpod Foxes sessions. The sessions are multi sports in nature and are for children (8+) and adults with a disability.
