We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with good basic knowledge of building maintenance, to assist commercial and domestic sites with all general maintenance issues across a number of facilities. The role is wide and varied and will cover a broad spectrum of day to day running issues and preventative maintenance. You will be required to travel between sites, so a full valid driving licence is essential. The main duties will include:

· To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules across multiple sites on a monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual basis.

· To carry out general maintenance tasks, to include the examples below

· Plumbing – Cistern / Toilet replacements

· Joinery – Door replacements / Worktop replacements

· Groundworks – Reseating concrete flagging

· All other general maintenance duties

· To use all Information Technology effectively, such as Microsoft office and Omniledger software.

· To ensure all stock is stored and maintained within Health & Safety requirements.

· To order materials for sites efficiently, using purchase order system effectively or directed procedures.

· To use and maintain a range of tools and equipment associated with the above, including I.T equipment provided.

· To ensure all YMCA vehicles are maintained and kept clean and tidy and are roadworthy whenever in use.

YMCA Housing works in collaboration with service users that are in crisis by enabling them to secure and maintain a safe place to stay. We are looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker to work within the Supported Housing scheme. The successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for providing housing management support to service users of the scheme to ensure they have the relevant information and support to successfully manage their accommodation.

The position will include evening and weekend work, a flexible approach is essential. Previous administration experience is essential for this position and applicants should be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

The main duties will include:

  • To complete sign-ups with service users commencing the service, including full induction and application for Housing Benefit.
  • Support service users to effectively manage their rent accounts, ensuring that housing benefit entitlement is secured.
  • Be responsible for conducting weekly accommodation checks with service users and reporting and managing repairs to the accommodation.
  • Support service users to develop understanding of their rights and responsibilities in a Tenancy and develop skills to effectively manage their accommodation.

YMCA Lancaster are looking for individuals to support our Young people’s Projects funded by Children in Need, the National Heritage Fund and Child Action North West, which currently run in Lancaster and the surrounding areas. The projects focus on the delivery of 1-2-1 support, targeted youth work and sports sessions. We are also looking for individuals to attend day trips and activity days with our young people. The main duties will include:

· To ensure effective delivery of the Targeted Youth Support programme across Wyre Borough.

· Support the development of Targeted Youth Support and risk-taking behavior services across North Lancashire and wider, as appropriate.

· Develop and deliver a range of high quality 1:1 and group work interventions that will target and support young people (4-19) engaging in risk taking behavior.

· To recruit and engage with young people and encourage participation in the Targeted Youth Support project.

· Build Excellent relationships with children and young people through a range of youth work, coaching and mentoring skills.

· Deliver support sessions for children and young people identified as having additional needs

We require a customer-focused individual to assist with increasing our membership sales, promoting the Centre and improving our customers experience across multiple reception areas. You will need exceptional face-to-face and telephone communication skills combined with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You should be computer literate with exceptional customer service skills and have a passion for health and fitness. Your main areas of responsibility will include:

· To be the main contact for our reception areas.

· To promote and increase membership sales

· To demonstrate knowledge of our class timetable and activity programme and to promote customer participation

· To answer and forward phone calls, deal with enquires by email and answer customer feedback

· Preparation of rooms so that all events, activities and classes take place.

· Ensuring that a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the rooms and its equipment within the facility at all times.

· Interacting with the public responsibly and welcome all users of the facilities, promoting a positive image of the facility by the provision of high-quality customer service.

· Opening and closing of the facility and assist in monitoring the security of the premises at all times.

· Patrolling all areas of the facility and ensuring that all areas are being used in the correct manner.

· Handling customer payments, end of evening cashing-ups and banking duties.

Alternate weekends – Saturdays 3.30pm-5.30pm at YMCA St Annes Pool & Gym and Sundays 2.30pm-4.30pm at YMCA Kirkham

Voluntary Hours

We are seeking volunteers to assist with Fylde Sharks, a fortnightly disabled swimming program at YMCA Kirkham and YMCA St Annes swimming pools. The volunteers will be assisting young people to enter the water safely and supporting them and their swimming teachers during the lessons. The role can either be on the poolside or in the water; no teaching experience is necessary, but volunteers in the pool must be able to swim competently.

Basic training will be provided and appointments will be subject to satisfactory DBS clearance.

Opportunities will be available for volunteers who wish to further their training in swimming teaching and delivery.

All applicants must be at least sixteen years of age.
