Last year we supported at least 30,000 children, young people and adults across Fylde, Wyre, Lancaster and Cumbria. YMCA Fylde Coast manages and delivers a wide range of community services such as; 10 health and fitness centres, supported accommodation for the young and homeless, housing advice service, counselling support, young people services, National Citizen Service,  the Your Move programme as well as outdoor education for schools, youth groups and businesses

Maintenance Operative

Fylde and Wyre Sites

Up to Full time hours available

£18,638.54 to £19,650.56

On a daily basis you will be carrying out routine maintenance and reactive repairs on the buildings, including leisure centres, swimming pools and residential properties.

You will be required to travel to our sites across Fylde & Wyre, so a full valid driving licence is essential.

The main duties will include:

  • Carrying out general maintenance repairs across a multi – site business within a small maintenance team as directed by work order tracking system, and/or line manager
  • To work to a Planned Preventative maintenance system.
  • To undertake a range of maintenance works, including plumbing, joinery, minor building
  • works, minor electrical works and minor decoration works.
  • Carrying out maintenance and repair works within a commercial swimming pool environment
  • Carry out periodic checks of all areas for items requiring attention, particularly light fittings, toilets/kitchens and all doors/barriers/shutters, ensuring all exits and walkways are kept free from obstructions
  • Report all proactive works via work order tracking system, as confirmation/receipt of request
  • Escalate any faults or issues outside of competence to line manager
  • Report daily activity to line manager and provide financial information on reactive spend
  • Be compliant with relevant health and safety legislation/guidelines and ensure compliance with these at all times. Escalate any breaches to line manager in an appropriate timeframe.
  • Liaise with contractors/sub-contractors as indicated by line manager and report job completion via work order tracking system.
  • Ad hoc requests from line manager as required
  • Some out of hours working may be required as requested by the business

Full Time 35 hours per week

We are seeking a pro-active, customer focused Receptionist to assist with increasing our membership sales, promoting our Centre and to improve our customers experience.

You will need exceptional face-to-face and telephone communication skills. You should be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team with customer service skills that can deliver exceptional results for YMCA Poulton. This role is to cover 21 hours on a shift basis across the week.

Based at Poulton Health and Fitness Centre

You will need to possess high standards with a customer focussed mind-set along with excellent organisational skills. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team as well as on your own.

Your main areas of responsibility will include: ~

  • Become familiar and familiarise yourself with our members
  • To be the main contact for the front of house
  • Promote and Increase membership sales
  • Increase member participation in classes and promote all aspects of the building
  • To demonstrate high levels of customer service

Funpod Foxes

We are currently looking for volunteers for assist with the running of the Funpod Foxes sessions. The sessions are multi sports in nature and are for children (8+) and adults with a disability. We are also currently looking for volunteers to assist us with the running of the Fylde Sharks disability swimming sessions. Volunteering opportunities exist in areas ranging from administration duties to swimming assistants. In addition, the team are in need of ASA qualified swimming teachers. The sessions offer one-to one swimming lessons to disabled children and young people up to 18 years of age. YMCA Lakeside

Day Camp Leader Volunteers x 16 (Saturday 21st July – 31st August 2018) £50 a week expenses plus full board and accommodation. Would you like to gain experience working with and being responsible for children? Have you got bags of enthusiasm and energy, a great sense of humour, full of fun and a commitment to give 5 weeks of your summer? If so, this placement is designed for you. You will receive 1 week’s intensive training in what you will need to learn and then you will spend 4 weeks, Monday to Friday as leaders within our Day Camp Programme.  Join our team for the summer and make friends for life.

Tommys Boxing Club

Do you have experience in boxing? Do you want to get involved in boxing? Do you want to help young people through a diversionary activity? Tommy’s Youth Club based at YMCA Lofthouse in Fleetwood are looking for volunteers to assist in the running and organisation of their Boxing Club. The club has just won the North West Junior Boxing Club of the year. We are looking for volunteers who want to assist in taking the club to the next level and become part of something special.

YMCA Housing

Our Supported Housing services and YMCA Face to Face provide support for some of the most vulnerable in society; if you would like to use your professional skills or develop skills within the following areas;

Volunteer Counsellor; Our volunteer counsellors support individuals within the Fylde area that require support, our counsellors work with a wide range of individuals and provide a much needed service within the area.  The YMCA is unable to accept applications from individuals who are not working towards their Diploma in Counselling from an accredited provider. YMCA Face to Face is only able to accept applications from individuals who need to complete 100 hours of counselling placement hours or currently qualified counsellors
