As a Finance Apprentice you will process financial transactions in Sage in an accurate and timely manner. Your role will assist the finance team by collecting, checking and analysing financial information related to the accounts’ overall function, and provide support for the organisation.

The main duties will include:

  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the YMCAs processes and procedures and the accounting/recording systems, and use various accounting applications to record and maintain the accounting requirements of the Company.
  • Assisting with the preparation of accounts and with accuracy and timely processing within the required deadlines
  • Receiving and processing sales and purchase invoices, and performing appropriate arithmetic calculations.
  • Preparing and processing financial documents including, but not limited to, purchase orders, invoices, cheque requests, manual cheques, petty cash requests and BACS requests.
  • Reconcile appropriate ledgers/accounts and assists with the completion of monthly and yearly reports.
  • Maintain a professional approach at all times including all calls to colleagues etc., and provide an accounting support service to internal and external customers in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and send invoices using Plus 2.

As well as this You will work alongside Community Volunteers and support the process of their training and development.

The main duties will include:

  • To ensure effective delivery of the Y-Youth programme across The Lancaster Area.
  • Support the development of Targeted Youth Support and risk-taking behaviour services across Lancaster and wider, as appropriate.
  • The Delivery and planning of activity sessions.
  • To recruit and engage with young people and encourage participation in the Y-Youth project.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Children and young people through a range of youth work, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with both partners and people living within the community.

We are looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker to work within the Supported Housing scheme. The successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for providing housing management support to service users of the scheme to ensure they have the relevant information and support to successfully manage their accommodation.

The position will include evening and weekend work, a flexible approach is essential. Previous administration experience is essential for this position and applicants should be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

The main duties will include:

  • To complete sign-ups with service users commencing the service, including full induction and application for Housing Benefit.
  • Support service users to effectively manage their rent accounts, ensuring that housing benefit entitlement is secured.
  • Be responsible for conducting weekly accommodation checks with service users and reporting and managing repairs to the accommodation.
  • Support service users to develop understanding of their rights and responsibilities in a Tenancy and develop skills to effectively manage their accommodation.
  • Monitor and update application process to ensure that applicants and service users are informed about the service and their responsibilities for the accommodation.      
  • Be responsible for the sale of tokens to service users and correct financial reporting.
