Duties of a Trustee
Becoming a member of the Board of Trustees, you become both the trustee of a registered charity and director of a company limited by guarantee. With your colleagues on the Board, you will be responsible for ensuring the affairs of the charity are conducted legally and properly. Support and guidance will be given to help you learn and exercise your role. The role of a Trustee is a voluntary role.

As a General Assistant what does the role entail:

Your day will consist of …

• Work as part of the core team under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor /Senior Operations Manager
• Carry out general cleaning duties, preparation, and changeover of client accommodation
• Clean facilities, public areas and meeting rooms as required, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout
• Report any damage to soft furnishings, paint work etc. to Maintenance/Operations Services Manager
• Assist in cleaning and preparation of staff accommodation
• Report any equipment replacement requirements to Maintenance Team
• To assist with general maintenance of public and staff areas
• Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements of the job and the Centre as indicated by the Centre Policies and Procedures. Read and accept all risk assessments of equipment

The Role

As a Seasonal Instructor of Outdoor Education, you will:

• Deliver inspirational, safe, and high-quality outdoor learning experiences
• Lead and course manage the groups we have at the centre
• Support participants to achieve positive outcomes through adventurous activities
• Contribute to the day-to-day running of the centre and the many important tasks that help our programmes run smoothly
• Act as a positive role model for children and young people throughout their stay

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated instructors who are passionate about helping young people thrive in the outdoors.

To be considered, you’ll need:

• A minimum of one year’s experience within the outdoor education sector
• At least one National Governing Body assessed qualification, such as:
  • Paddle Sport Leader with Personal Performance Award
  • Rock Climbing Instructor
  • RYA Dinghy Instructor
  • Summer Mountain Leader
  • Level 1 Cave Leader
• At least one additional qualification where training has been completed from the list above
• A commitment to your own professional development and progression
• A valid 16-hour Outdoor First Aid certificate upon commencement of employment

As a Housing Support Worker what does the role entail:

Your day will consist of…

• To complete sign-ups with service users commencing the service, including full induction and application for Housing Benefit.
• Support service users to effectively manage their rent accounts, ensuring that housing benefit entitlement is secured.
• Be responsible for conducting weekly accommodation checks with service users and reporting and managing repairs to the accommodation.
• Support service users to develop understanding of their rights and responsibilities in a Tenancy and develop skills to effectively manage their accommodation.
• Monitor and update application process to ensure that applicants and service users are informed about the service and their responsibilities for the accommodation.
• Ensure that House Rules are maintained and in the event of serious anti-social behaviour the appropriate agencies are contacted.

Your day will consist of…

• Maintain a high profile `shop floor` presence and a high level of interaction with staff and customers.

Job Purpose:

To provide, practical family support which improves parenting capacity, access to employment and training and educational attendance of children in line with Bradford Early Help targets and outcomes.

To work with parents and their children in their homes, outside of school hours, to increase the skills, confidence and abilities of all family members to live their daily lives in a positive and safe way.

This will involve

• Support parents to implement routines and boundaries with their children
• Support parents to ensure their children attend school. This could involve directly taking children & YP to school initially and then monitoring progress as routines are established and consolidated
• Direct work with children and young people in order to support access (by making referrals and support attendance) to services that will meet their support needs e.g, CAMHS, befriending, youth services
• Direct work with parents to support their capacity to parent through access to targeted / specialist services which meet their needs e.g. mental health, substance misuse, debt advice.
• Keep accurate records of support delivered on the Early Help Module (EHM) database
